For the ones who don’t know already who Andrew Tate is, he is a former world champion kickboxer and a business man. He is apparently very rich, we’re talking here about hundreds of millions of dollars.

Tate gained a lot of fans online because of his unfiltered comments and attention grabbing statements. In his videos he talked about businesses, self motivation,  displaying expensive cars and showing off wealth.

The problem is that he also used misogynistic, controversial and offensive remarks in some of this videos, drawing widespread criticism and requests from women to have him removed.

Around a week ago he’s been permanently banned from all the major social media platforms: tiktok, instagram, facebook and youtube.

There are two main issues with all this situation and things are not that simple as you might think.

1. Tate did use misogynistic and offensive remarks in many of his videos, he actually admitted himself to be misogynist.

Some of his opinions and statements about women are totally wrong but the good thing is we don’t have to agree with everything he says. We don’t even have to watch him anymore if we think he is a bad person.

People need to accept that there are still guys in the world with all types of views. Tate was saying this things for years and nobody got upset. He was banned now because he got too famous and people started to take notice of him.

In one of his videos he admitted that he intentionally exaggerates and says things in a certain way to get more attention and more views.

We can all agree that some of the things he was saying were wrong and offensive.
How many “bad people” are still on internet now or was he the only one?

Former mobsters, men that admitted to have killed other people are still on YouTube and they got a lot of followers.

We can find many examples of scumbags, with idiotic ideas and believes on social media. This doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to ban them all. The public should be the one to decide, and regrading the argument that Tate was a bad influence for kids, why is your kid watching Andrew Tate videos on YouTube?

His content is not in any way made for kids so if your child chooses to watch it, you should explain to him that some things on the internet are not for kids. You think that now that they censored Tate, kids won’t have any more bad things to watch on internet?

2. What happened with the freedom of speech? These are his opinions, his beliefs. You can choose to watch it or you can choose not to. If so many people don’t agree with what he was saying, then why he had that many views and suddenly became so famous?

As long as he is not hurting anybody and he is not doing anything illegal he should be allowed to express his views and opinions.

After all, this is what was good about the internet before, no censorship and everybody could express themselves how they wanted.
Is this the right way now, to censor anyone who we don’t agree with and destroy all their work?
How many women would say that they want Tate banned if anyone would ask for their opinion?

I will give you an example of how me and my wife see Andrew Tate:

I am not really a big fan of his, I’ve just seen some videos with him on YouTube and he can be entertaining at times and has some good motivational speeches and advices.

He talks about how hard work can help you achieve great things in life and tries to inspire people, giving them advices and life lessons.  Personally I don’t agree with everything he says, his views are sometimes off and after a while you get tired of listening to him.

My wife started laughing when she heard his comments about women. She never said to me that he should be cancelled or banned.

Se doesn’t watches any of his videos, doesn’t follow him and she doesn’t really care about him. He is just a rich guy with some strange opinions on YouTube for her.

I don’t know if banning him is the best decision to take.
It’s a dangerous road when you start cancelling everyone who you don’t agree with. Today was Andrew Tate, tomorrow could be you or me.
