The OFM Avenue Body Wrapper

This are the most important fights from boxing and mma that will take place in the remaining months of 2022

1. Andy Ruiz vs Luis Ortiz (Heavyweight) September 4, LA, USA – Crypto Arena, All Haymon – PBC.

This is a fun fight to watch even though Luiz Ortiz is 43 years old and we don’t really know how he will perform against the former unified heavyweight world champion, Andy Ruiz (32).
Since he lost the titles in the rematch against Joshua, Ruiz fought only once, managing to beat Chris Arreola by Unanimous Decision in 2021.

2. Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz
UFC 279, September 10, T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, USA.

This could be the last time we see Nate Diaz in the UFC. It’s the last fight on his contract and it doesn’t look like he wants to sign another one. He is facing the new rising star of the UFC, Khamzat Chimaev and this fight will most probably live up to the expectations.

3. Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin 3 (WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO Super-Middleweight Titles)
September, T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, USA, Eddie Hearn – Matchroom.

It’s interesting how Canelo Alvarez will look after his surprising loss to Bivol. He was undefeated since 2013 when he lost to Floyd Mayweather and managed some impressive wins in the years that followed. This fight will settle once and for all who is the better fighter.Triple G has 44 professional fights and 42 wins. His perfect record was ruined by Canelo in their previous two fights, the first one ending in a draw and the second one being won by Canelo Alvarez.

4. Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker (Heavyweight)
September 24, Manchester Arena, Manchester, UK, Frank Warren – Queensberry.

For Parker, a former Heavyweight world champion (WBO 2016 – 2018) this will be a important test, he is facing the new “rising star” of the heavyweight division Joe Joyce from England. A bit surprising is the fact that Joyce is 36 years old, while Parker is only 30. We knew Joseph Parker for quite a while and we expected that the newer face in boxing, Joyce would be younger or at least the same age like Parker.

5.  Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn (157lbs Catchweight)
October 8, O2 Arena, London, UK – Eddie Hearn – Matchroom

Another fun fight between an established top boxer: Chris Eubank Jr (32) and a new prospect of the sport, the 25 years old: Conor Benn.
It’s a fight between the sons of two boxing legends and it’s interesting to see how they will perform, specially Benn who will face his biggest test so far.

6.  Devin Haney vs George Kambosos Jr 2 (WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO Lightweight Titles)
October 15, Melbourne, Australia – Bob Arum – Top Rank

An exciting rematch after Devin Haney beat George Kambosos Jr via unanimous decision in June 2022, becoming the first undisputed champion at Lightweight since the four belt era started.
Haney declared that he expects Kambosos to come to fight and give his all, even more than in the first fight. The American sees this as a good opportunity to showcase his skills even more and promised to be even better this time around.

7.Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helenius (Heavyweight)
October 15, at Barclays Center, New York – Al Haymon – PBC

The comeback fight of the Bronze Bomber after the two brutal losses against Tyson Fury.
Before the Fury fights he was considered one of the best knockout artists in history and had a perfect record managing to KO most of his adversaries. It will be interesting to see him in the ring against a adversary other than Fury.

8. Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev (Title fight)
UFC 280, October 22, Etihad Arena, Yas Island/Yas West United Arab Emirates.

We all know how Charles lost the title even though he won the fight against Justin Gaethje on May 7 this year. In the eyes of many he is still the champion in the Lightweight division. His opponent, Islam Makhachev, has been compared many times to Khabib and we all want to see him against a top level adversary.

9. Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira
UFC, November 12, Madison Square Garden, New York, USA

A very anticipated fight between two fingers who know each other very well. They competed against each other in kickboxing and Alex Pereira defeated Adesanya twice, once by unanimous decision and once by KO.
Israel Adesanya has been dominating the Middleweight division since 2019 when he won the title against Robert Whittaker and he is now one of the biggest stars in the UFC.
